With a strong interest in grammar and flow, I strive to ensure your intended meaning shines through in your work.

I have experience as an Editor in Chief for a technical documentations company and for two independent publishing houses. My experience performing developmental, substantive, stylistic, copy editing and proofreading has culminated in my teaching a course called “the Basics of Editing” at Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2005, I was nominated for Editors' Association of Canada’s Tom Fairley Award for Editorial Excellence.

Editorial Service offerings include:

Manuscript review
Evaluation of the first chapter of your document or manuscript, which includes a list of issues and strengths.

Critique
Comments on your entire document or manuscript addressing specific concerns such as characters, plot, setting, and areas for development.

Editing
Review of your document or manuscript in any or all of the five types of edit:

 1) Developmental  Coordinate and edit a document from first to final drafts.
 2) Substantive  Clarify and reorganize a document for content and structure.
 3) Stylistic  Clarify meaning, eliminate colloquialism, smooth language, and perform other line-by-line editing.
 4) Copy  Edit for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other mechanics of style.
 5) Proofread  Check documents for glaring spelling, punctuation, formatting, and grammatical errors.
